To mark National Margarita Day, we’ve delved into the London Cocktail Club archives and found this beauty. The actor himself would be proud.
“Our favourite bad boy of the big screen loved his margaritas so much we named this one after him,” said LCC owner, JJ Goodman. “He once said ‘you either love or you hate, if you live in the middle, you get nothing’. Well Charlie, we LOVE our margaritas as much as you do, so this ones for you!”
Blended drinks are remarkably harder to make than people give them credit for. The density is so important if you want the perfect “nipple” on top of your margarita. Too much ice and it will be lumpy and tasteless, too little will leave a watery mess.
Make sure your mix moves freely like lava in the blender as you pour it, and if in doubt, add some extra tequila, and always make sure its 100 per cent agave tequila if you don’t want to wake up with a sore head!
50ml 100% agave tequila
30ml lemon juice
20ml agave syrup
Blend. Add all ingredients to your blender with five ice cubes and blend until smooth.
