Bloo88 on West Street.

The West Street bar is introducing a new menu, new cocktails and a new décor

West Street’s Bloo88 bar is set for a whole new look, which will be revealed just in time for the new influx of students into Sheffield.

The bar, which is famous for pizza and cocktails, closed for refurbishment on 9 September and will reopen on the weekend of the 15 September, with new additions to the food and drink menu, an extended bar, and a spruced up interior.

Fans of Bloo don’t need to worry though, the bar is sticking to what it knows best. The menu will still feature customer favourites, including its signature pizzas, but a few new options are set to be introduced, including the El Fire Bandito, a super spicy addition that isn’t for the faint hearted. The bar’s two for one pizza deal will also remain seven days a week (until 5pm on a Saturday), and for lazier Bloo fans, the bar’s food will be available on Deliveroo, if you prefer pizza in your PJs.

Drinks wise many of Bloo’s Insta-worthy cocktails are staying, with the addition of a few fresh new concoctions, including the Angel Blush - which features Absolute Citron, lychee and grapefruit bitters, cranberry and lime, and the Love 30 – a combination of strawberries, cream, Pimms and bloom. The ‘amazing world of cocktails’, or Thursday night to you and me, will also be staying, with two for one cocktails deals all night.

Re-opening just in time for freshers’ week, Bloo88 is offering a new card to the city’s students, featuring exclusive deals on drinks and food. The bar is also keen to support Sheffield’s student community by offering sponsorship to clubs and societies, and is encouraging students to get in touch to find out more.

Of course, Bloo88 wouldn’t be the same without its famous salsa evenings, and Wednesdays will still be reserved for all things dance, with free classes and special offers all evening. The upstairs function room will also still be available for hire for parties, events and celebrations.

Décor-wise, team Bloo is remaining tight-lipped, but all will be revealed when the bar reopen on 15 September, we’ll see you there!

Keep up with Bloo88 on the bar’s website, or for the latest updates, head to the Bloo88 Facebook page.

Now we don’t want to mention the C word too soon, but if you want to hold your Christmas party at Bloo88, the private room upstairs is booking up fast, so get in touch quickly to avoid missing out!
